Grassland Research Project BIOINVENT

Perennial, extensively managed grassland systems are of great agricultural and ecological importance. With special consideration of management and climate gradients, BIOINVENT closes existing agroecological knowledge gaps about the efficiency of these systems to promote soil microbial diversity. The aim is to better understand and sustainably promote the diverse ecosystem services of perennial grassland ecosystems.

Project Partner and Foundations

In addition to Hohenheim, the universities of Lisbon and the Azores, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Agroscope in Zurich and Akteure & Regionen in Immenstadt are involved in the BIOINVENT project. The DFG and donors from partner countries are funding it with a total of 1.65 million euros, of which the University of Hohenheim receives almost half a million euros.
